Just Like Family.Saint Elizabeth Community understands the importance of having the time to provide care that is thorough, dignified, and compassionate.The Medical Billing and Collection Specialist's main purpose is to properly bill and collect accounts receivables (Medicaid, Medicaid pending, private), manage personal needs accounts, and assure accuracy of reports filed with outside agencies or used internally.Responsibilities of a Medical Billing and Collection Specialist:
  • Responsible for resident billing for above payors
  • Responsible for collections of accounts receivables for above payors
  • Record cash receipts and prepare deposits.
  • Notify Department of Human Services of admissions, downgrades, and discharges on Medicaid Residents
  • Updates Medicaid pending with appropriate staff in addition to above payors.
  • Communicates receivable issues with Office Manager and Administrator when necessary and in a timely fashion.
  • Manage resident personal needs accounts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for a Medical Billing and Collection Specialist:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • Three to five years of medical billing/collections experience required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
