- Communicates with patients, providers, and dispensing pharmacies to support medication-related requests and other departmental initiatives.
- Collects all pertinent information for Medical Reviewers (Medical Directors and pharmacists) to complete medication prior authorization clinical evaluation.
- Supports regulatory requirements under the supervision of the clinical pharmacist.
- Receive and store incoming supplies, verify quantities against invoices, check for outdated medications in current inventory, and inform supervisors of stock needs and shortages.
- Supports medication-related initiatives that align with PCHC strategic priorities with oversight from the Clinical Pharmacist. Activities may include but are not limited to outreaching to patients and Providers regarding UDS, HEDIS, medication adherence, or other quality measures.
- Performs administrative tasks as requested by the clinical Pharmacist or departmental leadership.
- Participates in the ongoing development and expansion of pharmacy initiatives, programs, and continuous process improvement activities. Develops standardized operating procedures and workflows.
- Creates a pharmacy resource manual for the prior authorization team.
- Drives patient centric communications to improve adherence to prescribed therapy.
- Provides polypharmacy follow-up support for patients.

- High school diploma or general education equivalent required
- Associate degree preferred
- LPT - Licensed Pharmacy Tech Active current pharmacy technician license in good standing in Wisconsin required
- 1-2 years Experience as a pharmacy technician in an outpatient setting required and
- Prior authorization review processes and Epic knowledge preferred
- Experience in a community-based agency, community health organization or related field
- Basic computer skills and experience in data entry using Excel, Access or equivalent computer background.
