The Process Design Engineer will support asset, operation, construction, and engineering teams by providing safe, compliant, effective, and fiscally responsible solutions to better manage our production of oil, gas, and water.EDUCATION
Bachelor's degree in EngineeringEXPERIENCE
Requires a minimum of 3 years of oil and gas industry experience. If not a chemical engineer, must have experience in hydrocarbon chemistry and separation principles.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Interpretation, understanding, and implementation of industry standards, recommended practices, and regulations including:
o API 520/521 - Pressure Relieving Devices
o API 2000 - Storage Tank Venting
o ASME B31.3/B31.8 - Carbon Steel Pipingo API 15LE - HDPE Piping
o NACE MR0175 - Hydrogen Sulfide Considerations
o OSHA Standardso EPA New Source Performance Standards
o EPA National Ambient Air Quality Standards
o New Mexico and Texas State Permitting Requirements
  • Involved in process hazard analysis exercises
  • Managing process control using Cause & Effect Diagrams and Control Narratives
  • Extensive process modeling (ProMax)
  • Sizing and selection of
o pipe, valves, and fittings
o control devices (e.g., control valves, pressure relief valves, etc.)o fluid drivers (e.g., pumps, compressors, blowcases, etc.)
o separation and storage equipment
  • Specification of instrumentation
  • Troubleshooting and technical support for field operations, EHS, maintenance, and engineering
  • Working with electrical and automation personnel for tangible and realistic solutions
  • Developing and managing standard facility and equipment designs
  • Support for execution of project specific deviations from standard designs
  • Independent project design, scoping, execution, and management of greenfield facilities
  • Technical support for brownfield projects
  • Use of computer aided design software (AutoCAD Plant 3D) to develop design documentation
