  • Work Schedule: 7/7 Rotation, 12+ hour days

Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of automation equipment
  • Responsibility of maintaining and repairing a wide array of automation and electrical equipment associated with upstream onshore oil and gas producing operations
  • Provide on-site automation support for upstream onshore oil and gas producing operations
  • Serve as technical resource for facility controls systems and field instrumentation including level, pressure, flow, vibration, and other instruments
  • Ensure maintenance activities are executed in compliance with relevant industry and corporate Process Control standards
  • Follow PLC programming practices, standards, and MOC procedures
  • Identify problem areas with instrumentation and control systems to determine strategic improvement opportunities
  • Leverage CMMS, such as SAP, to facilitate the processes of maintenance operations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Automation with GPA of 3.0 or higher (or foreign equivalent) preferred. 2-year Instrumentation or Automation technology degree with a GPA of 2.5 or higher (or foreign equivalent), or equivalent technical working experience with a good track record of safety, required
  • 3+ years experience working as an Automation Specialist. 3+ years of Oil Field experience
Advanced knowledge of well RTU designs, programming and troubleshooting * Experience with Allen-Bradley & Rosemount. Advanced knowledge of analog and discrete instrumentation, and various serial and ethernet communications protocolsAdvanced knowledge of technical standards and guidelines (API, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, ISA, etc.)Intermediate knowledge of maintaining PLC programs in function block, ladder logic, and structured textIntermediate knowledge of maintaining local HMI operator interfacesAbility and willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and participate in an on-call rotation. Schedules may vary depending on locationAbility and willingness to travel to unassigned job areas on an as-needed basisAbility and willingness to work under air (fit test) and work from aerial manlift platformWorks safely around instrumentation and electrical systemsCapable of working responsibly with limited supervisionIntermediate knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.) and Windows Operating Systems. Able to read and understand Cause & Effects, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, control narratives, etcIntermediate ability to troubleshoot control networks for well sites, well pads, tank battery, saltwater disposal and compressor stations. (ControlNet, Ethernet I/P, Network Switches, fiber optics, RF communications)Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with management, technical, and field personnel.
