
Designer/Drafter (Power Distribution)

- Possess thorough knowledge of practices and procedures related to technical matters in areas such as Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation and Control, Protective Relaying, Transmission Design, Substation Design, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Distribution Engineering, Surveying, GIS and Mapping, and CADD.
- Prepare manual or computer-assisted design and construction drawings of a complex nature with neatness and minimal errors.
- Perform design services requiring a full understanding of drawings, specifications, and industry standards.
- Participate in the preparation of cost estimates, specifications, evaluations, and requisitions.
- Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations.
- Coordinate equipment deliveries and design development to meet project schedules.
- Acquire on-site field data to accomplish design tasks or to monitor and evaluate equipment performance.
- Proficiency in design, electrical design, and engineering.
- Competence in GIS, distribution engineering, civil and mechanical design.
- Experience in substation design, transmission design, survey, protective relay, and instrumentation controls.
- Associate degree in a technical field is preferred, ideally in civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering. (HS Diploma/GED required)
- Minimum of 0.5-2 years of relevant experience is ideal.
- Demonstrated leadership and technical capability to perform job duties and responsibilities.
- The position is based in an office with opportunities for flexible hours once trained. There is also the possibility to work from home two days a week at the discretion of the management.
