- Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPI) for the department and measures performance against the KPIs.
- Build Task Instructions for each position within the department.
- Develop and execute a plan to cross train all personnel within the department.
- Initiate and lead continuous improvement plans for the department.
- Act as a liaison with relevant external entities including, but not limited to the FAA, DOD and IOSA auditors.
- Act as a liaison with all internal customers to include, Instructors, Crew Planning and Performance, Finance and Crew Payroll.
- Develop and implement strategies communicating Company goals and department performance requirements to all department personnel.
- In cooperation with the Manager of AQP and Development, develop and present quarterly and yearly AQP reports required by AFS 280.
- Act as liaison between PSA and MINT, the scheduling software used by Training Support, to ensure that the software continues to meet the needs of the Flight Training Department as the airline matures.
- Formulate departmental policy that will unify all parties involved in support of the training mission at PSA Airlines including, but not limited to Long Range Planners, and Daily Schedulers, along with Training Records personnel and IOE schedulers.
- Ensure all training and record keeping for Flight Operations and Inflight Operations is conducted in compliance with applicable CFRs and approved training manuals.
- Supervise, train, monitor, and assess staff member performance with an emphasis of continuous improvement, and promotion of skills that lead to career progression within PSA’s leadership hierarchy.
- Ensure the company has sufficient training resources to meet the training needs established by Crew Planning and Performance. (Classrooms, Training Equipment including CPTs, FTDs, Cabin Trainers, and Simulators. Instructors, Check Persons, Aircrew Program Designees and Line Check Persons.
- Ensures conformance with appropriate sections of Collective Bargaining Agreements.
- Ensure corporate standards and affirmative action programs are communicated and implemented.
- Implement, monitor, and review the results of the Company Internal Audit Program
- Identify and communicate training needs to various Flight and Inflight Training Leaders.
- Attend Director’s Meeting and brief Executive Team as to current status of relevant areas of Training Support.
- Make recommendations for the Training Support operating and capital expense budgets
- Responsible for the Company's Security and Safety Management System (SMS) and associated Safety Risk Management and Safety Assurance outputs
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable FARs
- Understanding of PSA’s Flight Training Manuals
- Previous Training Department experience at PSA or another airline
- Ability to speak/read/write in English.
- If hired, must be able to demonstrate that you are authorized to work in the US.
- Bachelor’s or Associate Degree in Management
- Previous airline operations management experience
