Our practices are guided by the Connecticut Early Learning and Development Standards to ensure that all students have the opportunity to practice the standards for their age group.DutiesLead Teacher: create lesson plans and curriculum materials
Assistant Teacher: Assist in the implementation of curricula activities and encourage participation by children.
All Teachers:
  • Availability to work from 8:30 - 2:00 Monday - Friday, unless otherwise indicated by director who sets weekly schedule.
  • Actively engage in activities; manage cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of classroom materials.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, use of Brightwheel application.
  • Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
  • Help ensure a smooth, daily transition from home to school and back home.
  • Follow all school policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with preschool children
  • Kind, loving and child-centered
  • Understanding of play-based preschool teaching and learning
  • Understanding of the Bucket Filler method for student management
  • High energy, enthusiastic, team player
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • An understanding of child development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to be certified
  • Must clear a full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Minimum High School Diploma; preference given those who possess a CDA credentials or at least 12 credits in early childhood education or child development.
  • Willingness to pursue CDA credential or at least 12 credits in early childhood education or child development.
Nice To HavesPrefered:
Associates; Bachelor's Degree in early childhood education or related fields
