All RNs in their first nursing role are invited to participate in a Nurse Residency Program alongside nursing orientation. The program provides socialization and support, enhances clinical judgment, and promotes professional development.Come join our highly skilled staff in this fast paced OR. Looking for nurses who are self-motivated, flexible, and enjoy working as a team! Must posses strong critical thinking skills.Hours: . 7-5:30 (rotating days off) with call responsibilities required.OR experience preferred, not required. Must at least be licensed.
  • Patient Population/Diagnoses: In the operating rooms, we care for a wide range of patients ranging from neonates up to adults. At Riley, we perform surgical procedures as simples as ear tubes to open heart.
  • # of beds: 16
  • Nursing skills gained: Our OR nurses are trained to function in both the circulator role and as a scrub. Because of this, our onboarding takes approximately 9 months.
  • Unit Successes/Designations/National recognition: Level I Trauma, Magnet
  • Unit Culture Highlights: Growing team that will be comprised of 80 percent nurses and 20 percent certified surgical technologists. We have several other supportive roles such as Operating Room Assistants, Patient Transporters, and Equipment Specialist. Our team is dedicated to patient safety. We work very closely with the anesthesia and surgical care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Qualifications
  • Requires Associates of Nursing (ASN); Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) preferred.
  • Requires current state of Indiana license as Registered Nurse.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other Advanced Life Support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
