SCHEDULER/PROGRAM ASSISTANT, MIT Venture Mentoring Service (VMS), will execute administrative tasks critical to the effectiveness of VMS including, but not limited to, the scheduling and support of mentoring sessions between all ventures and their mentor teams; the filing, management and organization of sensitive program materials related to venture development and VMS participation; the maintenance of the program database data; managing day-to-day operations of the VMS office space; and assistance of guests of the VMS office; and coordinate with fellow VMS staff members to ensure efficient day-to-day operation of the VMS office, working under direction and supervision from Operations Manager and in collaboration with the Program Coordinator. The MIT VMS currently works with ~200 volunteer mentors and ~300 venture start-ups to provide free, confidential and unbiased business guidance to members of the MIT community.Find a full job description here:Job RequirementsREQUIRED: High School education or equivalent; a minimum of three years of secretarial, office, or related experience; proficiency with Microsoft Outlook and Dropbox; strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word, and familiarity with Quickbase or other database tools; ability to maintain a positive attitude, create a pleasant environment for guests of the VMS office, adapt quickly to last-minute changes, and work in a fast-paced environment; excellent verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and attention to detail; ability to follow directions closely and research and/or troubleshoot problems as appropriate; confident asking for assistance and receiving feedback; ability to work independently and as part of a team; ability to set priorities and juggle competing priorities; tact and ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion; and experience working in a start-up organization, entrepreneurial environment, or business setting.Infrequent evening hours may be requested based on program events.9/3/2025
