- Develop HVAC and mechanical utility systems for buildings and industrial processes.
- Perform load calculations, energy modeling, utility assessments, and code evaluations.
- Create design reports, P&IDs, plans, schedules, and installation details.
- Manage the mechanical scope and budget for small to medium-sized projects.
- Lead design efforts across all phases: concept, schematic, design development, construction documents, and administration.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and vendors.
- Work closely with internal and external teams to ensure cohesive, constructible designs.
- Respond to RFIs, review submittals, and support field activities during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training efforts.
- Use BIM tools (Revit), AutoCAD, and engineering software for modeling and calculations.
- Leverage Microsoft Office, Bluebeam Revu, and other platforms to manage deliverables.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering (mechanical focus) from an ABET-accredited program.
- 5+ years of relevant experience in HVAC and mechanical systems design.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in good standing.
- Experience working in an AEC firm environment.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, or GMP manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with codes and standards (ASHRAE, SMACNA, ISPE, FDA, ISO, NFPA, OSHA).
- LEED, WELL, or other sustainability credentials.
- Experience with field surveys, plumbing design, and troubleshooting mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of Revit plugins (e.g., Enscape, Unifi) and parametric tools (Dynamo, Grasshopper, Rhino).
