Dispatcher - Mission Support Officer McLean, VA

Vaxcom is currently seeking Dispatchers to support our Customer’s mission requirements on a part time basis - Nights/Weekends.

Responsibilities:

Dispatchers working in the Communications Section are responsible for facilitating service calls and information using telecommunications equipment and automated systems to resolve a variety of issues and to ensure a response from the appropriate emergency service. Mission Support Officers prepare written, non-technical reports to management, indicating solutions or range of possible alternatives in rank of desirability and probability of success when there is no single solution. Officers develop and maintain broad networks across various agencies and the government. Done by using a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system, telephones, multi-channel radios, numerous law enforcement and agency databases.

- Provide mission support for a dynamic security related project

- Candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading all aspects of mission critical support.

- Must be able to work independently in an extremely fast paced environment

- Is the first point of contact for security professionals regarding performance, operations, emergency response activities, and department needs

- Act as a liasion and manage relationships with corresponding Government entities

- Respond to clients ad hoc needs and take lead for developing response strategies

- Develop office SOP's and drive continuous improvement of security programs

Qualifications:

At least one year of experience with multi-tasking with database systems, multi-channel radios and/or multi-line telephones while communicating emergency and non-emergency incidents. Highly Desirable is current certification(s) in the following areas: emergency police, fire and/or medical dispatching; public safety; emergency telecommunication; other directly-related fields. Additionally, experience utilizing a Computer-Aided Dispatching (CAD) System and skill in the use of a typing keyboard with speed and accuracy are also desirable. Must be approved by the client to work at the site.

The communications center operates 7 days per week and 24 hours per day. Communications Operators will be required to work any assigned shift. Duty hours are subject to change to accommodate the needs of the Department; additional duty may be required. Applicants must be willing and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.
