Human Resources Manager Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with department managers in recruitment efforts providing hands-on support in the hiring process as needed.
- Ensure positive onboarding of new hires including offer letters and background checks, conducting orientation and working with department directors throughout the onboarding and training process.• Responsible for HRIS input of new hires, terms and status changes. Prepare bi-weekly payroll and time cards for processing by the Home Office.
- Investigate, document, and meet with managers and employees on performance improvement; incorporate input from indirect HR Director with increased complexity & high risk factors such as protected class, resident injury, threats of violence etc.
- Work with staff and managers to administer HR policies (i.e. performance policies, workers compensation, OSHA, pay policies) and employee retention.
- Provide accurate and timely benefits information to employees, assist with employee benefit questions and open enrollment.
- Ensure work comp claims are properly managed ensuring positive communication and return to work management.
- Analyze employee survey data and work on continued retention improvement strategies.
- Ensure compliance – collaborate with other leaders and HR to ensure training provided to on-site team for HR functions (interviewing, background check process, proper use of hiring pay scales, timely evaluations etc), personnel files are complete, hiring process encompasses all needed steps/forms, etc.
- Integrate into management team by attending manager meetings, StandUP, and IDT meetings.
- 3+ years of HR, benefits and payroll experience required.
- Must have knowledge of HR laws and processes.
- Possess a solid understanding of Work Comp and Leave of Absence policies and practices
- Experience working with HRIS systems, UKG/Workforce Dimensions experience preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail, numerical abilities and computer skills.
- Positive communication and customer service skills with a desire to serve both employees and residents.
- Ability to take initiative, be proactive, and demonstrate flexibility.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).
- Team player who has a passion for elder care and adapts quickly to changing situations.
