- Prepares intermediary and complex federal and state income tax returns for individuals and businesses.
- Reviews simple and intermediary tax returns.
- Prepares and reviews responses to IRS/State tax notices and correspondence.
- Effectively communicates with clients - answers questions, gathers necessary information for tax return and other projects, etc.
- Consults with client and uses tax law knowledge to provide tax planning guidance.
- Provides advisory services to clients.
- Manages multiple client engagements completing them on time and within budget.
- Researches technical tax issues related to return preparation.
- Develops tax law expertise.
- Develops and maintains technical competencies and other skills. Actively seeks out and participates in training and continuing education opportunities.
- Has a solid understanding of the Firm's services. Listens for and identifies opportunities for the Firm to provide additional services to clients.
- Assists with training and mentoring others.
- Protects the confidentiality of client and Firm information.
- May assist with providing other client services such as payroll and/or bookkeeping.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.

- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Ultra Tax, Accounting CS, QuickBooks or related software.

- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Business, or related field with at least two years of related experience; or associate's degree in accounting or business, or related field with at least five years of related experience; or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Five years of tax preparation experience required. Three years tax experience in public accounting, preferred.
- Enrolled Agent or Certified Public Accountant designation or eligibility for either, preferred.
