Moreover, teachers receive annual salaries distributed over 12 months for financial stability throughout the year.Position SummaryAt Ascent Classical Academy of Grand Junction(ACAGJ), teachers create their lessons within the framework set by our content-rich curriculum in collaboration with colleagues and partnership with Hillsdale College's Barney Charter School Initiative. Teachers are dedicated to mastering the key elements of their instruction and to their students' intellectual and moral betterment. Ascent Classical Academies teachers take seriously their moral and intellectual improvement as part of a hard-working, supportive, and excellence-driven culture.ACAGJ is seeking a qualified Reading Interventionist for the 2024-25 school year. * Supports primary teachers in the appropriate identification of students in kindergarten through grade 6 needing reading intervention
  • Provides one-on-one and small group reading instruction to students needing reading intervention
  • Works with classroom teachers to push in to the class for reading support, as needed
  • Plans and uses appropriate, research-based instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of identified students in the area of reading
  • Uses assessment data to drive instructional decisions on a daily basis
  • Develops and implements daily lesson plans and small group activities, consistent with Colorado State standards, current research methodology, and classical pedagogy
  • Completes benchmark assessments as well as progress monitoring in compliance with the READ Act
  • Provides students with specific evaluative feedback
  • Communicates effectively with students, teachers and parents

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Strong background in content areas; willingness to receive specific training
  • Eligibility to work in the United States
  • A satisfactory background check is required by state law and the Colorado Department of Education
  • Conviction in the values of a rigorous liberal arts education
