- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering, or related field
- Professional Engineering license
- 10+ years of experience developing construction documents for roadways or highways
- 5+ years of experience serving in a project or design management role with a track record of progressively responsible work, managing projects
- A broad knowledge base in civil engineering, with specific experience in grading, drainage design and 3D modeling, roadway geometric design, and design of accessible public spaces
- Experience in preparing transportation and local agency design documents, including the GDOT Plan Development Process (PDP)
- General experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, coordinating utility and right-of-way impacts and street lighting, traffic signal, and landscape/hardscape layout
- Experience in Computer Automated Design (AutoCAD or MicroStation) and a design software (Civil 3D or OpenRoads) is required
- Experience reviewing construction plans and providing constructive feedback
- Experience developing construction documents, cost estimates, and specifications
- Interest in multimodal and active transportation issues and design (specifically for bicycle, pedestrian, Safe Routes to School and/or transit integration) for all ages and abilities
- Experience preparing proposals and scope/fees
- Experience in business development including networking with colleagues and clients at public events, industry organizations (e.g., ITE, ASHE, or ASCE), and agency organized events
- Experience with stormwater design software is a plus (e.g., HydroCAD or HydroFlow)
- A desire to manage, mentor, and inspire staff
- Willingness to perform site or client visits
