Join our team and be a part of the growing battery revolution.We are looking for a Senior Battery Cell Engineer to design and develop battery cells and material qualification process, leveraging Mitra Chem’s accelerated R&D infrastructure.Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop coin cells and pouch cells that are best suited for Mitra’s material screening and qualification processes.
  • Refine cell design and develop state-of-the-art cells that fully realize Mitra’s product performance for customer qualification.
  • Design experiments and process development related to electrode coating, cell assembly and cell testing, including resulting data reporting and analysis.
  • Conduct failure analysis on cells, provide feedback and insights to the material synthesis and research teams.
  • Work closely with the R&D and software infrastructure teams to accelerate Mitra’s material screening and qualification workflow.
  • Scale up powder-to-cell process from manual coating and assembly to an automated cell assembly line with roll-to-roll coating, including working with third party electrode and cell prototyping partners.
Qualifications:
  • Battery cell and battery materials related experience through an advanced degree in chemistry, physics, materials science, chemical engineering or a related field, and/or substantial industry experience.
  • Functioning independently with limited supervision.
  • Working within cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with cell design and development of battery coin cells and pouch cells. Experience with roll-to-roll process for battery making is a plus.
  • Familiar with battery cycling and other performance tests, electrochemical testing, and failure analysis of battery cells.
  • Quantitative background in statistical analysis and programming tools.
  • Experience with simulations and/or computational modeling is a plus.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $130,000-$153,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus and equity plan.
