The Lexington School is seeking a temporary Maintenance Staff member to join our Grounds and Maintenance team. This essential role focuses on maintaining the safety, functionality, and visual appeal of our campus facilities through proactive maintenance, repairs, and grounds keeping activities. You will work both independently and collaboratively to support our school's daily operations. This position offers the opportunity to contribute directly to creating a safe, welcoming environment for everyone on campus. This position does not require supervisory responsibilities.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform janitorial duties including restroom maintenance, spill cleanup, and sick child cleanup
  • Conduct minor repairs, painting, and furniture assembly indoors and outdoors as needed
  • Unload delivery vehicles and distribute packages throughout campus as needed
  • Assist with traffic and parking control during school hours and events
  • Support preparations for special events and school functions
  • Perform routine facility maintenance and inspections
  • Operate and maintain various tools and power equipment
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency situations
  • Maintain grounds and landscaping as required
  • Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
  • Ability to work in both indoor and outdoor environmental conditions daily.
  • Ability to walk, stand, maintain balance, climb ladders, crouch, bend, twist, push, pull, reach above should level and lift up to fifty (50) pounds daily.
  • Ability to handle moderate levels of stress related to time constraints and hazards of the job, daily.
  • Ability to handle exposure to a variety of chemicals (generally for cleaning and painting purposes) frequently.
  • Work environment includes interaction with Students, Parents, Faculty, Staff and Visitors.
  • In the case of an emergency, staff may be designated to assist with safety protocols during drills and real emergency events.
  • Occasional evenings and weekends could be required for special events.
