Qualifications: Possess a Doctorate's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university/school program or a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited university/school program with 10 years of experience. Possess certification through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties (ABPTS) as either an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) or Sports Physical Therapy (SCS). Maintenance of certifications, licensure and insurance (e.g. malpractice) shall be a recurring commitment and shall be at the contractor's expense. These requirements must meet all local, state, and national medical standards to practice within the area/location of contract performance. Possess at minimum 2 years of clinical or orthopedic experience to perform manual therapy within the sports medicine field. Ability to meet physical demands of training with TACP operators including the ability to hike over rough terrain and function in austere environments to observe training evolutions and the ability to assist with strength and conditioning testing and training protocols, and lift and manipulate loads or weights up to 25 kilograms.


3.2 Physical Therapist (PT). PTs provide evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of musculoskeletal conditions. They are licensed independent practitioners and credentialed as direct care providers. As such, the PTs shall evaluate and treat patients with or without referrals. This shall include the referral of patients to other staff members that fall within their scope of care.

3.2.1. Provide Operators musculoskeletal injury care, utilizing approved supplemental clinical privileges including the ordering of imaging studies, laboratory tests, basic pharmaceuticals, and referrals to specialty providers.

3.2.2 Participate in periodic meetings to review the care provided to Operators and identify opportunities for improvement.

3.2.3 Advise unit commander and Operators on matters related to injury prevention and rehabilitation.

3.2.4 Maintain records of PT workload statistics towards the ASOS.

3.2.5 Manage and track the PT supply inventories of the ASOS and provide input regarding supply needs, optimal equipment, and supplemental fiscal requests.

3.2.6 Conduct equipment, product, and literature reviews to ensure that the unit stays current with the provision of care.

3.2.7 Provide input for the development and utilization of relevant databases that will be used to track analytical data showing the overall improvement and recovery of individual Operators in functional areas (e.g. strength/conditioning, recovery from injury, and power/speed/agility improvement).
3.2.8 Conduct peer (record) reviews as requested.

3.2.9 Build and maintain clinical practice guidelines to ensure consistency of care.

3.2.10 Ensure safe and effective operation of equipment used for patient care and contribute to a safe working environment.

3.2.11 Assist in documenting care in the Military's Electronic Health Record, Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA).

3.2.12 Receive and maintain clinical practice privileges when required.

3.2.13 Refer Operators to the local MTF if treatment requires additional actions not within their scope. This shall be included in the Operator's regular report to the COR.
