To accomplish this mission, we need team members who are passionate about creating the latest in technology solutions, and who are driven to learn and grow.JOB DESCRIPTIONLynntech's Electronics Engineering Technicians work hands-on, developing first-of-their-kind prototypes as well as manufacturing systems that build products to improve lives. Our technicians are commonly engaged in the following activities:
  • Participate in concept generation and problem solving during brainstorming sessions with talented and experienced innovators.
  • Develop PCB and wire harness designs using eCAD software such as Altium Designer.
  • Develop embedded microcontroller, FPGA, ARM, and PC style firmware and software.
  • Populate PCBs with surface mount and through hole components along with assisting in testing and troubleshooting of electronic and electrical systems.
  • Develop software for applications utilizing high level languages like Javascript and Python
  • Fabricate parts for prototypes using all manner of machines such as mills and lathes, saws, presses, welders, brakes, and shears.
  • Assemble prototypes and test stands to support emerging technologies utilizing state-of-the-art hardware components and systems.
  • Test and troubleshoot these prototypes and processes and monitor outcomes with a critical eye for improvement.
  • Contribute valued feedback regarding the design and performance of prototypes and manufacturing systems.
QUALIFICATIONSBasic qualifications for this position include:
  • Enrolled in or pursuing a pathway to a bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Mechatronics/Multi-Disciplinary, Biomedical, or related engineering disciplines
  • Strong self-starter who can work with little or no supervision
  • Ability to work in fast paced, multi-tasking, deadline-oriented environment
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and a team player
  • Able to work an average of 20 hours per week between the hours of 7 a.m. and 6 p.m., M-F
  • Anticipates being able to commit to the position for at least 2 years (this is not a summer or single-semester internship)
The following attributes are valued in an applicant, although passion for the work and the ability to learn and grow are the foremost requirement:
  • Experience and/or coursework in electrical design and prototyping using eCAD software such as Altium Designer and SPICE
  • Experience and/or coursework in embedded systems programing and debugging using C, C++, VHDL, Python, C#
  • Experience and/or coursework with various low-level communication protocols such as serial, I2C, SPI, and GPIO
  • Experience and/or coursework in declarative UI frameworks for the web and other platforms, such as React
  • Experience and/or coursework in backend frameworks like Flask or Node.js
  • Experience and/or coursework with data acquisition and control systems utilizing common sensors such as pressure transducers, temperature monitors, ADC, DAC, etc.
  • Experience and/or coursework in testing and troubleshooting of embedded systems with standard benchtop instrumentation such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, function generators, power supplies, etc.
