Summary:We are currently seeking a skilled Sr. Tool and Die Technician to join our team in Venice, FL. A successful candidate is one that understands how to read drawings, blueprints, or specifications and fabricate parts to required dimensions and tolerances. This position requires the skill to process raw materials into finished parts.Our company offers a competitive hourly rate and overtime, favorable benefits, opportunities for advancement, great culture, and strong leadership.POSITION - Senior Tool and Die Technician - Manufacturing PlantLOCATION - Venice, FloridaSIGN-ON BONUS - $2,500 and Relocation Bonus - $2,500HOURLY RATE - $32.00 - $40.00 - Based on ExperienceSHIFT - 3rd Shift - 10pm to 6:30am - M-F - Must work 1 Saturday every 7 weeks Responsibilities:ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Designs a wide variety of tools, molds, dies, jigs, fixtures and gauges where only tentative design concepts are available from engineers. Visualizes completed items to ensure ease of operation and maintenance in manufacturing setting.Performs development work and difficult tool room machine operations.Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations.Constructs, alters and repairs tools, molds and dies to very close tolerances. Heat treats tools or parts.Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances.Performs skilled fitting, timing and adjusting.Makes tool tryouts; diagnoses and corrects problems. Qualifications:MUST HAVE MANUFACTURING EXPERIENCE
  • Licensed Journeyman is required and 10 years of experience in a machine manufacturing role, or an equivalent combination of experience and education to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.
  • Able to read and understand engineering technical drawings and prints.
  • Advanced component and part measuring skills including but not limited to, machinist levels, dial calipers, internal and external micrometers, dial indicators, tri-mics, bore gauges, gauge blocks, and CMMs.
  • Advanced manual machining skills required.
  • Advanced CNC and Wire EDM skills required.
  • Strong mechanical machine systems understanding a plus. (Bearings, Gears and Gear Boxes, Cams, Linear Slides and Actuators, Belt and Chain Drives, Punch Tooling, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Cylinders and Valves)
  • CNC programing skills required via machine interface and external software.
  • 3D CAD (SolidWorks) software knowledge a plus but not required.
  • CAM (MasterCAM) software knowledge a plus but not required.
  • Basic electrical and pneumatic machine control understanding required.
  • Ability to interface with individuals with diverse backgrounds at varying levels of the organization.
  • Familiar with TPM, preventative maintenance, and other maintenance improvement techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and detail oriented.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel, Word and Microsoft based products a plus but not required.
  • Knowledge of window production machinery a plus but not required.
