Overall, this position must operate as an assistant to the Controller and work collaboratively with the accounting team and in support of the operating groups.Systems Development and Internal Control:Evaluate financial systems to measure and incorporate efficient and effectiveReview and update financial process policies and proceduresLeverage use of technology to improve internal controls within our current syatemsAccounting and Reporting:Maintain, analyze, and reconcile accounts and related entriesParticipate in departmental month end close proceduresAssist with preparing Month End, Quarter End, and Year End financial reportsHelp prepare budget vs actual analysis fordepartment leadsFixed Asset Accounting:Work with AP and authorized purchasers to record and reconcile capital costsAssist with capital budget development and financial modeling.Assist with initial project set-up within company systemsParticipate in requirements discussions with technical teams to develop fixed asset management system.Other Job Duties:Assist preparing annual audit, tax return, EMMA bond filings, CARF reportsWork with internal staff to help develop relevant analytical reportsQualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting
  • 4 or more years of working in progressive accounting roles.
  • Knowledge of public accounting and internal control compliance experience is desirable..
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the MS365 (Excel, Word, and Outlook) required
  • Comfortable working on multiple projects concurrently and to manage work interruptions and organize and complete assignments timely and accurately.
  • Working in a collaborative environment and relate professionally with staff, vendors, residents, and guests
