Software Guidance & Assistance, Inc., (SGA), is searching for a Java Developer for a CONTRACT assignment with one of our premier SaaS clients in San Jose, CA . This is a hybrid role.We are seeking a highly skilled Java Developer with strong backend development experience to join our dynamic and collaborative team. The ideal candidate is proficient in Java and has hands-on experience with enterprise applications, APIs, microservices, and modern development frameworks. You'll play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining scalable and high-performance systems that power core business functionality.Responsibilities :
Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality Java-based applications.
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using frameworks like Spring Boot.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, QA, DevOps, and other Engineering teams.
Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code following best practices.
Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and technical discussions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
Continuously improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
Contribute to architecture and design decisions for new features and services.
Required Skills :
5+ years of professional experience with Java development.
Strong experience with Spring/Spring Boot, Hibernate, and related frameworks.
Solid understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and web services.
Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Maven/Gradle, and build tools.
Good knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.
Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Exposure to message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
Prior experience in enterprise SaaS environments is a plus**
