Preferred QualificationsRole PurposeThe Clinical Documentation & Quality Supervisor provides day-to-day leadership for the clinical documentation and quality team. This position manages team functions and departmental processes, as well as existing clinical measurement and quality improvement programs. This position also supports the development and implementation of new clinical documentation and quality programs that support organizational initiatives.Responsibilities * Ensures team compliance with departmental policies, regulatory requirements and professional standards & keeps policies and procedures up-to-date and participates in revisions as needed.
- Supports and participates in performance improvement initiatives towards increasing the quality of clinical data abstraction.
- Serves as a clinical documentation and quality subject matter expert; ensures effective coordination/collaboration with other departments and leadership; serves on hospital and system committees as designated.
- Coordinates staff meetings and provides educational opportunities for staff development.
- Provides leadership in the planning, direction, problem solving, and support of various initiatives within the department.
- Provides direction to align staff effort with goals and objectives and advocates best practices.
- Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.
