This role drives development and implementation of innovative strategies in their team to optimize the product portfolio, ensuring that resources are most effectively allocated toward the best opportunities to achieve business goals. They are consistently identifying and sharing best practices and continuous improvement opportunities across the function. The Director, Product Management uses their excellent leadership, communication ability, analytical skills and business acumen to maximize the growth, development and return on investment of the product portfolio strategy through leadership of their direct team and partnerships with stakeholders.What You Will Do:Responsible for the business strategy and Product Roadmap for the category or business unit ensuring alignment across business unit leadership. Owns and develops critical strategic and operational goals and execution plans which have significant impact to the achievement of resultsFocuses on optimizing product processes, product improvements, quality, etc. across the business unit portfolio; participates in related initiatives across the organizationSeeks input, influences, and aligns with leaders at all levels regarding prioritization of product initiatives for the SBU and with product initiatives for the AmericasMaintains expert knowledge of the markets and channels of the entire business unit including consumer/customer needs, industry trends, and go-to market strategy; evaluates assessments of PRDs, competitive landscape & market opportunities to inform strategic decisions. Provides thought leadership to portfolio & team consistently driving outside-in perspectiveDrives development of comprehensive business cases & new business opportunities utilizing deep comprehension of key financial and business factors. Assists team members with creating, presenting and revising business case processes & templatesInfluences business decisions made by General Managers & senior leadership; assists with development of the long-range plan and other strategic business plansActively assesses the performance of all business unit product line(s) through financial metrics & KPIs; prioritizes product level elements and activities to best position portfolio for profitable improvement over timeLeads by example with excellent relationships and broad influence within the business unit and larger organization to align others toward shared goals without direct authority. Proactively identifies possible areas of conflict and partners with stakeholder(s) to identify resolutionsCommunicates with senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the organization; conducts briefings with senior leaders in and outside of job functionDirect management responsibility for a team accountable for performance management, providing actionable feedback, driving development & growth for individuals, team engagement, and allocating resources & projects optimally to drive resultsWhat You Need to Succeed:10+ years of experience in product management, engineering, or related experienceBachelor’s degree in business, engineering or technical field, MBA preferredDemonstrated experience leading the development of strategy, gaining alignment, and diving execution through collaboration and trusted partnerships with internal and external stakeholdersHighly skilled at indirect leadership & influencing others with the ability to navigate a matrix organizationDemonstrated ability to develop and maintain an engaged teamVery strong business and financial acumen with ability to identify business unit and organizational opportunities & threats and lead development action plansMastery of effective collaboration, negotiation and ability to facilitate cross-functional workExcellently skilled at creating or providing communication to the organization regarding product portfolio, strategy or any related topic. Clearly articulates business unit product strategy(ies) to all levels in the organization.
