Description of Work
Perform routine cleaning and general upkeep of campus buildings under the supervision of an area manager. Scrub, strip, refinish and polish floors using heavy industrial-type powered scrubbing & buffing machines. Vacuum and clean carpets using industrial equipment. Dry mop floors, dust and polish furniture, walls and woodwork. Clean restrooms and showers. Collect and dispose of refuse requiring heavy physical efforts. Remove snow and ice from steps of immediate building area(s). Mix cleaning solutions to the proper proportions using concentrated cleaning agents. Perform required work to complete special requests or cleaning emergencies such water leaks, liquid spills, and spots on carpets and broken glass. Perform biological hazard clean-up and complete written reports. Answer customer questions with regard to services or seek information from proper source. Lift and move objects weighing about 50 pounds and occasionally more while moving furniture or setting up tables and chairs for special events. Must be able to work either City or East campus. Will be required to be available by cell phone during normal hours of operation.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Eighth grade education plus two years of previous custodial experience required; equivalency considered. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Must have the ability to understand cleaning chemicals and their application and dilution ratios. Must have the ability to gain knowledge and skill to operate large cleaning equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Previous custodial experience preferred.
