- NJ state licensure
- CRT or RRT Certification
- BLS through American Heart Association
- PALS and NRP Certifications must be obtained within 12 months of hire.

- Adheres to documentation standard: Contributes to a comprehensive plan of care, which includes the patient and family and is interdisciplinary. Document intervention in retrievable form which is consistent with plan of care/expected outcomes. Contributes to multidisciplinary teaching record as needed assuring patient/family understanding of prescribed therapy
- Assumes responsibility for reduction in length of stay through the timely delivery of appropriate clinical intervention and delegates follow-up respiratory treatments to appropriate members of the care team
- Collaborates daily with Multidisciplinary Team in development and progress of overall plan of Respiratory care for patients as indicated
- Collaborates with Multidisciplinary Team establishing requirements for teaching and discharge planning of each patient - assures achievement of desired outcomes
- Collaborates with RN and reinforces plan of care daily with patient and family
- Evaluates treatment and orders/confirms appropriateness and initiates treatments of MDI, HFN, CPT, Aerosol treatment
- Initiates an accurate pulmonary history and assessment of patients during initial as well as subsequent therapies
- Intubates in emergency/extubates per MD orders
- Manages transport of ventilated patients
- Participates in monitoring patient care outcomes as established by targets/goals or Performance Improvement within services
- Participates in quality monitoring process to identify variances that increase length of stay
- Participates in the orientation of other associates new to service areas
- Performs techniques/procedures for processing ABG’s
- Provides cardiac monitoring within scope of practice
- Responds to CAC/performs life support measures
- Serves as preceptor during orientation of Respiratory Therapists new to the unit or central department
- Uses mentoring skills with team members to advance their knowledge base and clinical skills
