If you are awesome... we want you!The Inn at Canaan is looking for a hard working, Part-Time Night Auditor to join our Team!Compensation: $12.00-$15.00 per hour (Based on experience)Job Role: Primary responsibility is to interact with guests in a respectful, cheerful, and polite manner and to effectively service all guests’ needs and to balance “end of day” in accordance with night audit checklist and procedures. The Night Auditor is responsible for balancing the revenue and expense transactions, which occurred during the day at the hotel.Essential Functions:
  • Embraces ECHO Teamwork values
  • Practices Lean Management principles as an integral part of the operation.
  • Closing and balancing all room accounts.
  • Counting and balancing cash and credit card receipts.
  • Balancing direct bill accounts.
  • Verifying and balancing vouchers.
  • Running a trial balance report.
  • Investigation or analyzing out-of-balance situations.
  • Making adjustments or corrections to accounts as needed.
  • Completing various computer audit reports.
  • Any other duties assigned by Supervisor
  • Must have knowledge and understanding of all front desk associate job requirements.
  • Record messages for next shift and management, especially guest related issues and early morning call outs.
  • Communicate with housekeeping and front desk of any no-shows, room moves, early check-outs, etc.
  • Balancing of daily postings and revenue in system.
  • Timely and accurate preparation and distribution of daily reports be email.
  • Expeditious and diplomatic resolution of guest issues.
  • Full knowledge in all emergency procedures (fire, safety, disaster, etc.)
  • Security checks of entire building are done routinely through the night, including locks and energy efficiency program.
  • Accurate preparation of VIP, complimentary, house use rooms and out of order lists.
  • Ensure proper registration of guests and credit procedures are followed.
  • Efficient processing of guaranteed/no show billings.
  • Adhere to all systems and controls procedures.
  • Complete third shift night audit checklist and responsibilities are complete.
  • (FT night auditor) to make sure invoices are entered correctly.
  • Completion of the Night Audit spreadsheet each shift.
  • Exporting of the Daily Reports and emailing same to various department heads at the hotel (estimated time 5 minutes).
  • Help Housekeeping in certain aspects of their duties (Laundry, common area cleaning, and bathroom cleaning)
Hotel Specific Essential Functions:
  • Ability to stand/sit for 8 hrs length of time
  • Ability to lift 30 lbs.
  • Ability to bend frequently during a shift
  • Ability to read, write, understand and speak English
  • Ability to work 11 pm to 7 am any night of the week if needed (IE. Cover vacations, sick days, etc.).

  • Multi-line phone system.
Working Environment:
  • Hotel / Resort property with guest rooms.
  • Work will primarily take place at the Front Desk area.
  • Group and solo work ability.
  • Practice and observe all safety procedures.
  • Interior of the hotel, in all areas with exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • The exterior of the hotel with exposure to weather conditions.
  • Exposure to various hazardous chemicals.
