Job Description:Job OverviewThe Machine Programmer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of data collection processes within a clinical facility. This position focuses on programming and cataloguing for advanced optical measurement systems, primarily the Zeiss ScanBox, alongside other Zeiss, Keyence, and Renishaw equipment. The role demands technical expertise in programming measurement systems, adaptability to learn new tools, and the ability to maintain an organized program library to support quality assurance and data collection workflows.Primary ResponsibilitiesProgramming and Cataloguing: Develop, test, and maintain programs for the various optical scanning machines located in a quality control facility. Ensure all programs are catalogued systematically in a program library for easy access and reuse.Operation of Measurement Systems: Operate and program optical measurement systems that utilize structured light or similar technologies to capture precise data for quality control and analysis.Cross-Equipment Proficiency: Work across multiple types of measurement and scanning machines, ensuring consistent performance and compatibility of programs across platforms.Continuous Learning: Quickly adapt to and learn new programming languages or software specific to measurement systems as new equipment or updates are introduced.Collaboration: Work closely with quality assurance teams, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure programs meet clinical and operational requirements.Required QualificationsProgramming Expertise: Proficiency in at least two programming languages used in optical measurement systems, such as GOM (Zeiss Inspect), Calypso, Zone 3, or Keyence-specific software. Candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience in programming measurement equipment.Experience with Optical Measurement Systems: Practical knowledge of structured light or similar optical measurement technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot and optimize system performance.Industry Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing or aftermarket sectors, or in another industry with comparable skills (e.g., precision manufacturing, automotive, or medical device industries). Candidates should highlight transferable skills if coming from a non-aerospace background.Adaptability: A proven ability to learn new programming languages and adapt to different measurement systems quickly and effectively.Technical Comfort: Comfort working with diverse measurement and scanning machines, with strong problem-solving skills to address technical challenges.Preferred QualificationsGD&T Knowledge: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards is a plus, as it enhances the ability to interpret technical drawings and ensure measurement accuracy.Manual Inspection/Quality Experience: Previous experience in manual inspection or quality control processes is beneficial but not the primary focus of the role. Candidates with this background may find it easier to collaborate with quality teams.Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a clinical facility, where precision and attention to detail are critical.
