Elite Surface Infrastructure (ESI) is a growing and reputable construction firm based in Englewood, Colorado, operating along the Colorado Front Range since 1998. As one of the largest self-performing contractors in the state, we specialize in Underground Utilities, Milling, Asphalt, Paving, Grading, Concrete, and Earthwork for a wide range of infrastructure improvement projects in the commercial, municipal, and federal sectors.POSITION SUMMARYThe Concrete Paving Foreman oversees all aspects of slipform concrete paving operations. This includes directly supervising crews, coordinating equipment, ensuring quality control, and maintaining strong communication with project stakeholders. The Foreman will be expected to lead from the front—planning, executing, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSCrew Leadership & Coordination
  • Supervise paving crews, assigning daily tasks, roles, and responsibilities to ensure productivity and workflow efficiency.
  • Lead daily project planning, coordinate material deliveries, manage truck logistics, and monitor resource needs.
  • Serve as a communication bridge between field teams, management, and clients—resolving issues, sharing updates, and aligning on deliverables.
Slipform Equipment & Quality Oversight
  • Manage setup, calibration, and inspection of slipform paving systems (including stringless systems, grade forms, and reinforcement placement).
  • Operate slipform paving machines such as the GOMACO Commander III Xtreme or similar with proficiency and efficiency.
  • Walk jobsites frequently to monitor paving quality, including slab thickness, line, grade, and curing; identify and address potential issues in real time.
Safety & Compliance
  • Enforce strict safety protocols, including correct PPE usage and the creation of hazard-free work zones.
  • Lead safety meetings and toolbox talks; perform site safety inspections and implement corrective actions as necessary.
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, DOT, and internal ESI safety standards.
Documentation & Cost Control
  • Complete and manage daily documentation: timecards, production numbers, equipment logs, maintenance reports, and more.
  • Track and analyze production metrics, downtime, and material usage to maintain operational efficiency and profitability.
  • Identify changes in site conditions or scope that could impact schedule or cost, and communicate these changes promptly.
Training & Equipment Oversight
  • Train crew members on the safe, effective use of concrete paving machinery and construction best practices.
  • Monitor equipment readiness through routine maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and coordination of repairs.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, mentoring team members for growth and development.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
  • Order necessary materials and equipment for concrete paving work.
  • Perform site checks and lead paver mobilization/demobilization.
  • Calculate concrete and material quantities as needed.
  • Interpret and follow project blueprints and specifications with accuracy.
  • Participate in hands-on labor or equipment operation as needed to ensure successful project delivery.

Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.Experience:
Proven experience in concrete paving and slipform paving operations, preferably with leadership or foreman-level responsibilities.Licenses/Certifications:
  • Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
  • Must meet FMCSA requirements to legally operate a commercial motor vehicle (CDL not required).
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to access State and Federal facilities (must pass background check and drug screening).
  • Ability to work in varying outdoor weather conditions and wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, vest, safety glasses, ear protection, gloves, etc.).
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, bend, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
  • Regularly lift/carry 10–50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling of equipment and materials.
  • Occasional climbing, crawling, and kneeling.
