
Nurse Manager - Emergency Services

- Current R.N. licensure with Louisiana State Board of Nursing with no restrictions.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in nursing is preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) through any International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) provided courses such as but not limited to: Ochsner Health System, American Heart Association, and American Red Cross. The ILCOR course must include a manikin check-off. Additional certifications as needed within the specific department. ALS preferred within 6 months of hire.
- 2 years’ experience in specialty is required, 5 years preferred.
- 1 year supervisory or management experience preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of the healthcare system infrastructure, federal and state regulations is required.
- Previous experience in leadership is preferred, with the ability to quantify past management achievements.
- Experience in directing and coordinating programs, projects, resources preferred.
- Knowledge of State and Federal regulations for Hospital settings; previous experience with Joint Commission accreditation surveys.
- Expands relationship building to include team members in STHS’s system of care, STHS partners and impacted communities.
- Demonstrates the ability to develop and grow a new service line or specialty areas.
- Identifies indicators to track that support strategic initiatives.
- Acts as a resource to develop, assist, and educate physicians, physician advisors, and interdisciplinary team members and patients.
- Monitors monthly reports, develops and implements action plans to address opportunities for improvement.
- Targets process improvements that positively contribute to the hospital’s quality and efficiency programs and expectations.
Must possess good physical health. Some requirements include but are not limited to standing, sitting or walking for long periods of time. Lifting at least 10 pounds is required. Must be able to work with a moderate level of noise.
