- An associate degree in Computer Aided Design (or similar advanced degree)
- A high school diploma is acceptable if accompanied with 7 or more years drafting technical experience
- Advanced drafting experience using standard computer drafting tools (i.e. AutoCAD or MicroStation)
- Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of the computer
- 7+ years of detailed design experience in the development of the below transmission and substation design deliverables:
- General Arrangement Drawings
- Electrical Equipment and Component Drawings
- Transmission & Substation Section Views (Elevations)
- Transmission Line Route Drawings
- Substation Detailed Bill of Material
- Substation Lightning Stroke Shielding Plan
- Substation Grounding Plan
- Electrical Connection and Grounding Details
- Cable and Conduit Raceways and route plans
- Underground Transmission Plan and Profile Drawings
- Control Building Equipment, Cable Tray, and Lighting
- Interpreting and incorporating vendor information into design deliverables
- Researching, deciphering, and applying client technical and design standards
- Perform field walkdowns and data gathering at client facilities to incorporate into designs.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced drafters and designers in the use of drafting tools.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution
- Engineer in Training or Engineering Intern License (EIT/EI)
- Experience with the National Electric Safety Code
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work independently
