Welcome aboard!DESCRIPTION OF MAJOR JOB DUTIESThe Department Manager 1/Finance works under the general supervision of the Director of Finance and is responsible for assisting with all aspects of finance for the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office (WCPO) as well as supervising and reviewing Accountants and Senior Accountants work. Specifically, the responsibilities are comprised of Accounting, Federal and State Grants Billings, Procurement and Budgeting.The Department Manager 1 must possess knowledge and an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and be familiar with the Uniform Accounting and Budget Act. In addition, this position requires knowledge and experience in financial reporting, statistical analysis and Grants reporting and compliance requirements.ELIGIBLE PERSONSAt the time of application, eligible persons must have:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field; AND
  • Three (3) years full-time paid professional accounting/financial experience performing accounting, financial analysis and/or budgeting; AND
  • At least 2 years of Federal and State Grants reporting and compliance requirements.
