- Be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, calibration, repair and/or replacement of electronic instrumentation and controls normally found in an industrial plant setting to include:
o Ability to perform alignment and adjustments with test equipment and production equipment
o Ability to read and edit PLC programs, with potential to write PLC programs
o Ability to record data
o Ability to change focus based on priorities
- Constructs process monitoring and control systems from specific instrumentation and communication devices, installs, views PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programs, calibrates, troubleshoots, maintains and repairs major electronic systems and peripheral devices per manufacturer's specification
- Reads complex schematics, wiring diagrams and shop drawings for the purpose of installation, troubleshooting and repairing of major systems and minor subsystems and components
- Provide technical support for the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of manufacturing instrumentation and process control systems.
- Implement improvements in systems capabilities that will increase the ability to meet customer requirements, including safe and reliable operations, and improve business competitiveness, using Six Sigma methodology as applicable.
- Advanced Knowledge of PLC's
- Knowledge of Delta-V control modules and hardware. Create and edit screen displays to reflect plant process changes. Configure communication bitmapping between Delta-V and various control systems such as K-tron, etc.
- Knowledge of K-Tron feeders and Smart Config.
- Knowledge of AMS (HART and Fieldbus) Software
- Knowledge of Horner Compact PLC/HMI (for N2 Skid)
- Experience with process control, Instrumentation, Allen Bradley PLC's, Panel View, Control Logic, Rosemont, Pi, KDAT, etc.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Instrument & Controls Technician or performing similar duties in a related position OR Instrumentation/Controls Associates degree or Electronics Technician Associates degree OR Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
- Strong mechanical skills and Electrical skills
- Proficient in Math functions, fractions, decimals, etc.
- Must demonstrate proper effective analytical troubleshooting/Root Cause Analysis skills
- Able to record data and analyze
- Ability to align and adjust various pieces of equipment, when needed
- Must always be SAFE with quality workmanship
- Good Communication
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Proficient in software tools such as Outlook, Word, Excel
