We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in Hartford, VT. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for collecting blood samples, ensuring proper labelling, handling specimens with care, and providing excellent patient service in a clinical or hospital setting.Roles & Responsibilities
  • Medical Technician (Phlebotomist): Perform phlebotomy for inpatient ward rounds, ED, outpatient, STAT, ASAP, and timed draws.
  • Conduct sample processing and send-out preparation.
  • Ensure positive patient and specimen identification.
  • Safeguard patient data (HIPAA/Privacy Act).
  • Identify and resolve processing issues.
  • Deliver professional patient-centered care with less than 3 annual complaints allowed under QASP.
Education & Certification Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Completion of an accredited Phlebotomy training program preferred.
  • Certification (such as ASCP, NHA, NCCT, or AMT) preferred.
  • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification may be required.
  • Prior experience in phlebotomy or clinical laboratory setting is an advantage.
Work Schedule:
Phlebotomists may be scheduled during any of the following shifts:
⦁ 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
⦁ 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM
⦁ 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
⦁ 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM
⦁ 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
⦁ Weekend, holiday, and overtime work may be required.
⦁ On-call or standby duties are not required.Federal Holidays Observed (PWS 8.5): New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Jr., Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any day declared a national holiday.
