- Interior Design Management (Interiors, Furniture Standards & Artwork)
- Standards Development: Lead the creation, documentation, and ongoing refinement of system-wide standards for interior finishes, furniture and artwork to ensure a cohesive, high-quality environment.
- Innovation & Best Practices: Proactively research and integrate evidence-based design principles, new products, and emerging trends into hospital standards, balancing aesthetics, functionality, and compliance.
- Vendor Management: Establish and maintain strong partnerships with suppliers, manufacturers and service providers, negotiating favorable terms and ensuring reliable access to materials and furnishings.
- Product Availability & Quality Control: Continuously monitor product inventories, lead times, and market conditions to anticipate and address any supply chain issues that could impact project timelines or budgets.
- Product Research & Selection: Stay current on industry trends, code requirements, and product innovations to recommend high-quality, durable, and cost-effective solutions.
- Material Library Management: Establish and maintain a comprehensive library of finishes, materials, and product samples to support efficient project decisions and uphold design standards. Develop and maintain pre-selected sample boards and curated material palettes that are regularly updated.
- Interior Design Project Coordination & Collaboration
- Project Coordination: Assist in planning and scheduling interior design-related project tasks, ensuring that key milestones are met and that deliverables align with overall project objectives, budgets, and timelines.
- Design Development: Collaborate with the planning and construction teams to create interior layouts, color palettes, finish and furniture schemes, and other aesthetic components that support the hospital’s functional and therapeutic goals.
- Functional Assessments: Work with project teams to evaluate existing spaces for functionality and identify opportunities to enhance patient experience, staff workflow, and safety through design.
- Programming & Layout: Assist with space programming, gathering data to develop design concepts, test fit diagrams, and detailed floor plans that optimize departmental operations and patient flow.
- Predictive Modeling: Contribute to modeling exercises that help anticipate future space needs and support institutional planning efforts.
- Facilities Documentation and Compliance
- Drawing & Documentation Maintenance: Update project documents, finish schedules, and furniture plans to reflect current designs and help maintain a comprehensive, accurate record of all interior elements.
- BIM Integration: Collaborate with other project staff to incorporate interior design elements into Building Information Models, ensuring alignment with facility standards.
- Regulatory & Code Compliance: Ensure all designs meet healthcare facility guidelines, building codes, fire / life safety regulations, and accessibility requirements.
- Other Duties as Assigned:
- Additional Department Support: Provide design expertise for special projects, departmental initiatives, or emergency needs, as assigned by the Director or Project Manager.
- Flexible Scheduling: May occasionally require work outside of standard hours, including weekends or evenings, to access areas during low-occupancy times or coordinate with clinical teams and contractors.

- Time & Budget Management: Show proficiency in managing design tasks to meet project deadlines and budgetary constraints, escalating issues when necessary.
