
Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor - Data Center Construction

- Develop cost models and estimates during early design phases, including feasibility and concept development.
- Support procurement strategy development and assist in contract preparation and negotiation.
- Participate in value engineering and design optioneering to optimize cost and performance.
- Provide market benchmarking and cost intelligence to inform planning decisions.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring alignment with approved funding and cost plans.
- Lead cost control activities including change order evaluation, cost checks, and financial impact analysis.
- Review and process contractor pay applications, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract terms.
- Prepare and present monthly cost reports with budget status, risk assessments, and forecasts.
- Track and report on cash flows, including Construction in Place (CIP) data for finance teams.
- Support commercial change management processes and maintain accurate documentation.
- Assist with audits, contingency analysis, and commercial risk tracking.
- Contribute to financial close-out of projects, including vendor settlements and lessons learned documentation.
- Review contractor and subcontractor pricing and support negotiations.
- Compile as-built cost records for benchmarking and future planning.
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, cost management, quantity surveying, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in cost management for large-scale construction projects, ideally in data centers or mision critical sectors.
- Progress toward RICS accreditation is preferred.
- Experience supporting cost management on medium to large-scale construction projects.
- Prior experience in a construction consultancy environment is preferred.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, procurement methods, and cost control principles.
- Familiarity with MEP systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
