- 3-5 years of experience with Autodesk Inventor with SDS in the substation industry.
- Ability to support some of the drafting/design independently.
- Substation industry experience is a must. Candidates with only Inventor software experience and no substation experience will not be considered.
- Function at a senior level engineering technician capacity with minimal supervision.
- Perform advanced functions requiring knowledge and use of electronic applications, standards, and document control processes/procedures to support creating and modifying deliverables.
- Provide technical guidance and direction to other engineering professionals, including delegation of work assignments.
- Apply knowledge of standards, systems, document control, departmental guides, applicable codes, and policies and procedures.
- Proactively apply knowledge of the Quality Program relative to deliverables, demonstrating personal accuracy and supporting continuous improvement and change management efforts.
- Review design inputs to ensure consistency and compliance with specific codes and standards suitable for the project.
- Broaden the use of applications to continuously evaluate and improve methods, processes, and procedures used to accomplish deliverables.
- Create and develop deliverables based on a variety of design inputs, including less complex design concepts and project design deliverables.
- Perform computations such as development of detailed material quantities and estimates.
- Coordinate deliverables with other groups involved in the same project to minimize interference or errors and may support field activities.
- Support project finalization, including consolidation of records for as-built drawings or information to take off as-built quantities.
- Focus on the needs of internal clients while gaining an understanding of external clients' main interests and drivers.
- Proactively seek and share knowledge of the latest technologies and processes, applying judgment and making decisions with respect to deliverables and input interpretation.
- Provide work direction and guidance to others, including supervision, career development, developing professionals, and mentoring.
