Responsibilities
- Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained. Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
- Adhere to all safety polices and procedures.
- Inspect product for defects, foreign objects, etc.
- Keep work areas clean.
- Track downtime.
- Operate proper equipment (packager, bagger, labelers Fallas, scales etc.) in an efficient manner.
- Perform all quality checks on finished product.
- Open and rework unacceptable product.
- Select and install appropriate film and/or zip according to production schedule.
- Perform metal detector checks.
- Track and communicate cheese/lot changes.
- Record daily film and/or zip usage.
Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED
- Ability to complete multiple tasks in a time-constrained environment.
- Must be able to work individually.
- Ability to stand for shift.
- Must be well-organized.
- Ability to read a limited number of two-and three-syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to write/print and speak simple sentences.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers.
- Be able to troubleshoot and have mechanical capabilities
