You will lead the team in showcasing our top-of-the-line apparel, ensuring that every customer experiences our unique lifestyle. Your role will include managing inventory, placing orders, and analyzing sales trends to optimize product availability.You'll train and motivate team members, fostering a culture of exceptional customer service. Daily, you'll engage with customers, offering personalized styling advice and building lasting relationships. Additionally, staying updated on industry trends and competitor offerings will be key to enhancing our merchandise selection.You'll also oversee visual merchandising, creating eye-catching displays that draw customers in. Collaborate with marketing efforts to promote new arrivals and seasonal promotions, ensuring that our motorclothes section remains a vibrant cornerstone of our dealership.What we're looking for in a Motorclothes ManagerTo thrive as a Full-Time Motorclothes Manager at Grand Rapids Harley-Davidson, you'll need a blend of skills that empower you to excel in a fast-paced retail environment. A high school diploma or GED is required, while a college degree in Retail Management, Business, or Marketing is preferred to deepen your understanding of industry dynamics. Your prior experience in retail management-ideally within the apparel or accessories sectors-is crucial, with at least two years in a leadership role showcasing your ability to motivate and develop high-performance teams. Strong merchandising skills will help you create visually appealing displays that attract customers, while effective inventory management ensures optimal stock levels and turnover ratios.You must be familiar with point-of-sale and inventory systems to streamline operations. Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, are essential for engaging customers and addressing inquiries effectively. Your passion for the Harley-Davidson brand will shine through in every interaction, inspiring both your team and customers alike.Knowledge and skills required for the position are:ESSENTIAL DUTIES
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the MotorClothes/Merchandise department.
  • Ensure a smooth, efficient, and visually appealing retail environment.
  • Train, schedule, supervise, and motivate department staff.
  • Manage stock: ordering, receiving, inventory control, merchandising, and maintaining optimal stock levels and turnover ratios.
  • Coordinate with Parts & Accessories (P&A) manager for orders.
  • Design product displays, manage markdowns, and plan promotions-including seasonal campaigns and fashion events.
  • Attend dealer shows for product updates.
  • Monitor department performance: sales, margins, revenue vs. budget.
  • Report on dealership leadership (e.g., General Manager).
  • Provide excellent customer service and handle customer inquiries and complaints.
SKILLS & EDUCATION
  • High school diploma or GED; college degree in Retail Management, Business, or Marketing preferred.
  • Minimum two years of retail management experience, apparel or accessories preferred.
  • Strong leadership, retail sales, merchandising, and inventory management skills.
  • Experience coaching and building high-performance teams.
  • Familiarity with Harley-Davidson merchandise and point-of-sale/inventory systems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); ability to engage with customers and staff effectively.
