  • Conduct business in a professional, honest, and ethical fashion at all times
  • Applies principles, methods and techniques of engineering
  • Assists in performing construction inspections
  • Assists in performing material sampling and testing
  • Collects engineering data at projects sites
  • May serve as lead worker
  • Uses automated programs and computer-assisted design/engineering systems
  • Performs detailed engineering calculations
  • Provides technical assistance to staff\
  • Coordinates with consultants on various projects to discuss designs and design problems
  • Coordinates with contractors on project progress and construction related issues
  • Prepare proposals and assist in invoicing
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
RequirementsMinimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited college, university or engineering school approved by a State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors
  • Ability to obtain PE License within 3 years
  • Engineer-In-Training certification in the State of Texas
  • Valid Class 'C' Texas Driver's License
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with transportation engineering, construction, material testing and/or project management
Technical Requirements:
  • Well versed in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
  • Technical report writing
  • Knowledge of State and local government standards and specifications
Other Miscellaneous Qualities:
  • Ability to travel, 20% of the time
  • Communicate effectively
  • Maintain effective working relationships with others
  • Preparing and maintaining confidential and sensitive records, files and reports
