PayPal's Global Fraud Protection team is responsible for partnering with global business units to manage a variety of risk of various types, including identity fraud, account takeover, stolen financial fraud, and credit issues. This is an exciting department that plays an important role in contributing PayPal's bottom line financial savings, ensuring safe and secure global business growth, and delivering the best customer experience.This open opportunity is within the Business Intelligence (BI) team. The BI team addresses key strategic and critical business initiatives. It partners with senior leaders to develop business cases for potential investments. The team also provides insights and recommendations to ensure smooth execution with cross-functional partners.Job Description:Your Way To Impact:You will be the data scientist on Business Intelligence team, where you will work on leading new projects to build and improve the tools and use of data to inform business decisions. In this position, you will use a variety of methodologies and approaches to strengthen and improve the existing business porfolio, including data exploration and analysis, developing metrics, and building new features through ML, AI or other suitable technologies.Your Day-to-day:You will collaborate with teams to develop strategies and insights to support fraud prevention, loss impacts, and operational efficiencies. You will work together with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions and providing analytics and governance over financial and operational metrics. These solutions will adapt PayPal’s advanced proprietary fraud prevention and experience mechanisms, enabling growth.Minimum Requirements
  • 7+ years of relevant experience working with large-scale complex dataset and analytics.
  • SQL, BigQuery, R, Tableau, Python is a plus and skilled at data visualization proficient with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Foster partnerships, communication, trust, and patience to support data-driven solutions addressing complex business problems across cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to articulate data-driven insights into compelling narratives to facilitate business decisions, even when faced with uncertainty and intricate topics.
