
Physician Assistant - Inpatient Surgical Oncology

- Perform history and physical assessments of patients that are accurate, concise, relevant, and appropriate.
- Solid foundation in managing complex oncology cases, including post-op care, complications, and cancer-related treatments.
- Confident in making autonomous decisions while knowing when to collaborate with attending surgeons and specialists.
- Able to clearly communicate with patients, families, and a multidisciplinary team, providing education, support, and timely updates.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate the plan of care with modifications as needed and in coordination with the attending physician when appropriate.
- Demonstrate pharmacologic knowledge including indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions, and adverse effects of pharmacologic agents.
- Review treatment and therapy plans with patients and appropriate family members.
- Practice clinical care informed by evidence-based literature.
- Instruct and counsel patients in matters related to health care management including diet, medication and physical and mental health needs and refers to the appropriate specialists when appropriate.
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Master's degree
- Three years as a Physician Assistant is preferred
- Unrestricted, Current Physician Assistant license
- Certified California Physician Assistant license
- Current DEA license required
- Current BLS certification from American Heart Association
- Current ACLS certification from American Heart Association
