Accounting Manager - Manufacturer - Grayslake, IL

- Oversee daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Oversees inventory processes including valuation, reconciliation, and physical inventory count
- Prepare internal financial statements and reports for senior management
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and applicable tax laws
- Lead, mentor, and develop the team of 4 individuals
- Coordinate external audits and work with auditors to ensure timely completion
- Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis activities
- Support ERP system implementation, upgrades, and data integrity efforts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on business initiatives and financial planning
- Handle complex journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving initiatives
- Liaise with external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
- 7+ years of experience in Accounting
- MBA and CPA a plus
- Managerial experience
- Month-end close experience
- Cost Accounting experience
- Manufacturing experience preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
