Responsibilities
- Compile, clean, and structure large datasets to enable accurate and comprehensive analysis.
- Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards, conduct data testing, and collaborate with business stakeholders on reporting solutions.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries while ensuring accuracy, consistency, and data integrity.
- Automate data extraction from multiple sources and leverage Microsoft Power BI to build, support, and enhance dashboards.
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
- Perform ad hoc data quality checks and apply manual corrections to pipeline data to support data governance and issue remediation.
- Derive and clearly communicate actionable insights that inform business decisions.
- Simplify and translate complex datasets into clear, meaningful narratives for non-technical audiences.
- Thrive under pressure by effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Other duties as assigned by leadership.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Big Data, or Information Management is desired.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional experience in data governance and data quality management, with hands-on use of data quality tools.
- Strong expertise in relational databases (SQL Server, MySQL) and ORM frameworks, with a solid foundation in database design and optimization.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Power BI ecosystem, including Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power Query, with experience in dashboard design and reporting.
- Proficient in programming languages such as Python, R, or similar data analysis and automation tools.
- Knowledgeable in data profiling, statistical analysis, data cleansing, and standardization techniques to ensure accuracy and reliability of insights.
- Familiarity with data warehouse development, including reconciliation and validation frameworks, is considered an asset.
- Mortgage industry exposure is preferred, as well as an understanding of domain-specific data and reporting requirements.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Data Science, or data quality tools) are a plus.
