  • Assists professional staff with patient treatment including but not limited to vital sign assessment, blood glucose monitoring, intake and output measurement, patient weights, patient nutrition, and all other duties as assigned.
  • Ensures patient is on time to therapy sessions, appointments, and other events. Acts as patient transporter.
  • Maintains patient safety and injury prevention; preventing falls, subluxation injury, pressure injuries, and hospital acquired infections.
  • Reinforces therapy techniques ensuring adherence to dysphagia, spinal, hip, weight bearing, and sternal precautions.
  • Communicates with patients, families, significant others, and other members of the healthcare team to promote maximum benefits from care. Utilizes the NRH Chain of Communication to ensure concerns are escalated as needed.
  • Maintains patient environment and the department in a safe, clean, and orderly condition.
  • Assists patient with activities of daily living including toileting, personal hygiene, bathing, dressing, eating, and functional transfers.
  • Uses proper body mechanics and lifting techniques to prevent personal or patient injury.
  • Ensures excellent customer service showing empathy and focusing on the NRH 5 P’s methodology of care which includes Pain, Potty (toileting), Position, Possessions and Prior to Leaving.
  • Completes accurate documentation in patient record.
  • Adheres to infection prevention and control protocols, including but not limited to good hand hygiene, transmission precaution protocols, and hospital acquired infection prevention protocols.
  • Adheres to Life Safety, Emergency Management, and Physical Environment protocols.
  • Adheres to Atrium Health policies, work instructions, and protocols.
  • Performs these and all other duties as assigned in a professional manner.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification Required:Certified Nursing Assistant with State of Georgia or 1 year tech experience, and CPR certification required.Education Required:High School diploma or equivalentExperience Required:1 year tech experienceKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:NAPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Must be able to use a computer. Must be able to communicate in person, over the phone, and in writing. Must be able to comprehend and learn operation of various office and medical equipment. Must be able to interact with persons to communicate effectively. Must be able to communicate and exchange information and ideas so that others will understand in person, over the phone and in text. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. Must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours at a time. The person in this position needs to be able to mobilize/move about in an office and hospital setting to access equipment and to interact with customers/teammates. Must be able to use proper body mechanics to transfer patients, transport patients, move supplies and equipment, maintain a clean environment, and perform job functions. Must be able to work in noisy environments and be self-directed to complete jobs as ordered. Must be able to remain calm under stressful situations. Must be able to assess and respond to multiple situations simultaneously. Must be able to assist co-workers in multiple overlapping tasks simultaneously.
