This role will provide hands-on experience in analyzing and interpreting food regulations, with a particular focus on vegetable oils and related applications. The intern will work across U.S. and international frameworks, contribute to regulatory research, and help develop communication tools to inform internal stakeholders.ResponsibilitiesRegulatory Research:
Investigate existing and emerging regulations related to food-grade vegetable oils.
Review U.S. (federal and state) and international regulations, with emphasis on Canada and the EU.
Focus areas: contaminants, labeling, health warnings, banned ingredients, and nutrition standards for general food, infant nutrition, and school programs.
Compliance Support:
Track implementation timelines, documentation needs, and compliance requirements across regions.
Monitor FDA/HHS initiatives, including Make America Healthy Again (MAHA), Ultra-Processed Foods (UPC), Project Stork, and related updates.
Communication & Knowledge Sharing:
Develop infographics, newsletters, and regulatory updates to communicate findings.
Collaborate with QA and other departments to highlight technical and priority information.
Present research and insights to cross-functional teams.
Other Contributions:
Support additional projects and tasks as assigned by the Regulatory and Research team.About youCurrent student or recent graduate pursuing a degree in:
Chemistry
Biology
Toxicology
Food Science
Pre-Law
General knowledge of chemistry or food science preferred but not required.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
