- Participate in pre-bid walks and site evaluations as required.
- Conduct comprehensive quantity takeoffs and prepare accurate, competitive bids using the company’s current estimating tools and software.
- Apply sound estimating practices while maintaining desired profit margins.
- Maintain proficiency in Excel and Outlook for effective estimate management and communication.
- Leverage internal data (e.g., from VP) to ensure constructible estimates based on real-world production rates.
- Stay informed about project backlog and adjust bidding strategies in coordination with leadership.
- Monitor market trends and historical performance to improve accuracy and profitability.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure bid clarity and effective project handoffs.
- Support accurate performance reporting to refine estimating practices over time.
- Conduct post-bid follow-ups and continuously evaluate opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain strong connections with clients, general contractors, vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Expand your professional network to enhance visibility and identify new bid opportunities.
- Stay updated on current methods and industry best practices.
- Participate in on-the-job training (OJT) with project managers to deepen commercial maintenance and installation knowledge to improve estimating accuracy.
- Demonstrated experience in estimating within the commercial industry.
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in digital takeoff and estimating software.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with internal data platforms (e.g., VP) is a plus.
