- Minimum of three years experience as a linguist (written and spoken communications) is required.
- Excellent command of both the English and target language.
- Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with individuals or groups from various levels and backgrounds.
- Must be in good physical condition with no health deficiencies, either temporary or long-lasting, that would impair performance.
- Monitoring, translating and synopsizing content of real-time oral communications and recordings.
- Transcribing from storage media, including audiocassettes, videocassettes or digital media and typing in both the required target
- Preparing typed English translations from other source media
- Performing quality control reviews of completed work
- Validating the accuracy of completed translations and transcriptions
- Interpreting oral conversations, concurrently/simultaneously
- Experience working in a high-threat environment and experience with US Department of State security operations
- Score at least a 3/3/3 writing, reading and speaking (WRS) in target language
- Score at least a 2+/2+/2+ writing, reading and speaking (WRS) in English
