Depending on the staffing needs of the recreation center or outdoor pool they are assigned to, on‐call positions may have a routine or variable work schedule and will work no more than 39 hours per week.Certified Fitness Instructors are paid $22.34/hour. On-call positions are eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits.LocationOur hiring efforts are primarily focused on staffing year-round indoor pool programming. Instructors are expected to provide a safe, educational, and enjoyable experience for all class participants. This position is a great opportunity for those who enjoy aquatics and are looking to engage with Denver's community members.Certified Water Fitness Instructors are paid $22.34/hour.As a Certified Water Fitness Instructors, you will:Instructing water fitness classes of roughly 45 minutes to 1 hour in duration per class at one or more Denver recreation center poolsCreating enthusiastic and energetic class environments while providing specific emphasis on safety and proper execution of movementsKeeping current on all certifications and industry practicesMaintaining attendance records for classes; distributing and collecting class evaluations as requestedAnswering participant questions and resolving issues, problems, and conflictsMaintaining a clean and safe work areaCompleting lesson plansWhat You’ll BringWe are looking for individuals who are knowledgeable about and can convey an enthusiasm for aquatics programming. Requires certification in CPR/First Aid at the time of application or within six months hire date.
