the Roll Shop which includes: Toll Shop Proper, Lathe, Garret equipment, and Wire Rod Block
equipment. This position must work to ensure optimal safety, quality, and production goals are
met.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1. Manages the Roll Shop for the NAS Long Products Division. Trains, leads, and motivates
all subordinates to optimize daily person to machine interface in order to continuously
improve safety, quality and productivity of the operating unites to meet all customer
demands of quality and on-time delivery. Enforces safety, quality, and productivity goals
and standards in order to meet and exceed requirements set by Management.
2. Coordinates with Maintenance Personnel on planned outages, preventive maintenance,
and special installation/upgrade projects in order to minimize delays in production.
Eliminate bottlenecks and improve quality of product as it relates to the maintenance of
the equipment.
3. Interacts with Technical department to ensure proper standards and procedures are
followed throughout all units in order to obtain the proper metallurgical properties and
quality of steel in process.
4. Manages costs for the Roll Shop, to effectively meet or exceed financial targets.
Constantly seek improvement, implement changes, and provide recommendations to
management.
5. Ensure employee conformance to established safety and housekeeping standards in order
to maintain a safe, clean and productive environment. Optimize employee morale.
Conduct safety meetings, accident/incident investigations, procedures, or make
recommendations to management to eliminate future safety problems.
6. Supervises Roll Shop employees. Communicates company rules and practices, requires
subordinates' conformance and application to established company rules and practices in
regard to attendance, performance, training, safety. Investigates, settles and/or refers
employee complaints to the Long Products Division Manager as required.
7. Maintains appropriate inventory levels for all units supporting consumables to ensure
uninterrupted operations. Participates in the purchasing of consumables which consists
of, but not restricted to; vendor selection, bidding, and ordering parameters.SUPPLEMENTAL JOB FUNCTIONS:1.Other duties as assigned2. Participation in continuous improvement programs3.
